For builders using AI coding tools
AI tools shorten the path from idea to working software. They do not remove the need to test boundaries, failure paths, permissions, and production assumptions.
The happy path arrives first
Tools such as Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor, Claude, and v0 are good at turning a clear prompt into visible progress. That speed changes when review needs to begin. The app can feel finished while most testing still reflects the exact path its builder expected.
Try the wrong user, an expired session, malformed input, a slow dependency, a missing environment value, or a partial deployment. Those cases reveal whether the working prototype is becoming dependable software.
Review the assumptions you stopped noticing
Write down what must be true for the app to behave safely. Then look for evidence. Confirm that authorization is enforced behind the interface, sensitive values stay out of client responses and logs, failures stop safely, and the deployment has observable health and a rollback path.
Launch Check provides a structured second pass across those concerns. The goal is not to shame fast building. It is to keep the speed while making the launch decision with clearer evidence.
